Druids of the Known World (AD&D 2nd edition)
The druids of the known world are ruled by the Grand Druid, who leads one
archdruid per geographical region. There are four geographical regions.
These are:
- West, being bound by the Atruaghan Clans to the west, the shore of
the ocean to the south and east, and Vestland to the north.
- North, being the area of Norwold, the Heldannic Freeholds, Denagoth,
the Isle of Dawn and Wendar.
- East, being Alphatia and Belissara.
- South, being the Hinterlands, Ierendi, The Minrothad guilds, Hattias,
and the islands south of the Isle of Dawn.
Current druids of the western area:
- Geirstein the bowleg, druid of Frey. Known to
be demoted by the Grand druid to his current rank for reasons unknown.
Lives in the northern part of Vestland, near the border.
- Arnora the wild, druidess of Freya. Arnora
considers that people should get back to nature, and that clothes are an
unnecessary encumberance. Many young men apply to her as initiates, as her
beauty is also well known. She lives west of the Great Marsh of the
Soderfjord Jarldoms.
- Asta of Nemmen, druidess of Freya. She lives
in western Vestland. She is one of the most rapidly advancing druids.
- Kardin the triton, druid of Protius. Lives somewhere in a large lake
in Darokin, a country to the south-west.
- At least one druid lives in the desert to the south, while another lives
in a great forest to the south-west.
- Three more, locations unknown to the general druidic populace.
Archdruids of the western area:
The Grand Druid:
The grand druid is apparently a talking tree, called a Treant.
He/she/it lives to the south-west, in a land called Darokin. He/she/it is
known to favour long term planning and caution, but does not hesitate to crush
enemies of the druids in open combat.
