When we last left our intrepid hero, he had just arrived at the capital of the country...
Lynard, along with Elya and the rest, sought around for another member to add to their band. He inquired at the temple of Morn (light, head god of good, ethos: defeat evil). The more junior of the priests there beat the more senior, and thus joined the party. She is commonly knowen as Az (her real name being rather long).
The party decided to travel north by ship, to a place known for it's weapons and armour. They taveled on a fast ship. On the way it became apparent it was a pirate ship, when they poisoned the entire party with sleep poison. Lynard resisted, and threatened them with his wand of fireballs. They escaped, taking Elya and Az. Lynard, who always had a soft spot for women, flew after them. He caught them, and slew many of the pirates. Az slew the pirate leader, with the rest surrendering. They were later hung.
Lynard asked around, and gained the attention of the local commander of the navy (who I promptly named commander Broderick). He asked them to undertake anti-pirate missions, which they did with glee.
One such mission invloved the a shipment of gold to a foreign country, apparently a secret. The ship was attacked by considerable forces, and Lynard teleported home (at some risk) to summon help. It turns out the gold was false, but nobody had told him that... Typical military.
A while later, most of the pirates in the region had decided to head off to other waters. Lynard decided to research a few things over winter, and developed Lynard's Multiple Flaming Darts (the variant of the Flaming Dart spell, a stanard warlock spell).
He also started investigating a strange sphere he found on one of the pirate ships. Eventually, he found it was following him around. He even smashed the wards around Sharmane's temple (goddess of protection). Holy water started affecting him. He started enchanting objects just by touching them. His dagger became magical. He created a magical rod by force of will. He commanded a dead boar in the kitchen to return, and it did, just with his will. Life started to crumble around his ears. Az wanted him dead.
He decided to crack open the sphere.
When he cracked it open, things seemed to return to normal. He no longer was able to create magic items at will, but he was no longer affected by holy water. He did have the ability to control flame with his mind alone. This was the normal ability of fire elemasters. Unfortunately, the collary of that was that he couldn't cast any spells but warlock spells (fire, energy).
Due to a lack of pirates, he and his band began a career as privateers, raiding the enemy shipping. That didn't last long, since Az wasn't very keen on the idea (paladins!).
In the mean time, two of his party members were killed by pirates. The druid, head of the druids of the country, was able to reincarnate them. The firsdt one came back as a Dew Drifter, a beautiful drifting jellyfish. He did make very good music tho.
The second was reincarnated as a XXXXXX, an evil creature (of Shadowrun fame). Lynard didn't realise this until it was too late, and a pitched battle was fought in the middle of the city against the creature. It was eventually defeated with the aid of several barrels of holy water, and a few well placed Speed spells.
He was reincarnated again, this time as an orge-mage. Next try was a Drake, a very chaotic creature with abilities of sorcery (chaos magic, where thought=effect, but you had better be powerful enough to control whatever the effect you created is...)
We all took ship northwards to the mainland in search of monsters to slay, including our transformed party member. He only killed one person on the way accidently.
We decided that he would be better off without us, and took off to the mountains.
