W: Mortals generally cannot leave the stream, but sometimes they manage through one way or the other. W: When they do, they often try to return to the place they left. I think so W: What I'm trying to say is that is mortals look carefully enough they will almost always find contradictions somewhere. Simply because everything flows together. W: However it's the ones that have been outside that have the most problems. W: Time tends to smooth itself out by making mortals unable to notice discrepancies. W: Those who step outside don't get this protection. They are more prone to finding contradictions. Pretty major contradictions! Well, one contradiction W: Major is relative. But really major contradictions aren't due to time shifts. There are always other reasons. * alamark is back Such as? yes, such as? and what is a time shift? W: That depends on the apparent contradiction. Normally it is just caused by a lack of information, or a failure to interpret the information available in the correct manner. Time shift is similar to a path merge. Or rather, the latter is the most common case of the former. (the last was W:) W: Basically two different flows coming back together. * Kasin nods Continue W: The end result of this is that different twists and splits are not normally so similar that a native can't tell them apart. If there are only very minor differences then they just merge. This isn't one of those though, so you should be fine. What do you mean, religious structure? W: The deities seem the same from the mortal point of view, but are actually rather different. Mortals can tell the difference - but not without some expert knowledge. A peasant would never know, and even a lesser priest might not. Ok. What do you mean, this isn't one of those. What is this one of? W: I mean that there are only two paths that are so apparently similar. This isn't one of them so I assume that if it is similar to your own path, then it is your own path. Oh.
