(Two sessions missed: found a green planetoid - an asteroid with green stuff growing on it. The planetoid is hollow, and looks as though it is partly artificially created, quite a long time ago though. The planetoid is pleasantly warm, unlike the rest of the void. Find lots of plant-based monsters, and the only animal seen so far is one bird, bright red in colour, is pretty, talks sometimes, can do colour spray, and was being attacked by plant-like orc-like creatures. It looked like they were created by some really big tree creature, spotted some 350 feet away. The tree eats living creatures caught by the orc-like creatures. We destroyed the tree at a distance using spells. Current party status: we are inside an overgrown tree-like mini-hollow-world, inside an asteroid. It is overgrown both inside and out. There are (almost) no animals, there are no bugs, and there are no worms. There are many large carnivorous plants. Also, we have loaned the Heldans a spare falcon engine, and the vase - without them, the heldan ships cannot move in the void.)

We decide to explore for a bit. The planetoid is only a few kilometres in diameter. We actually find some very small, flying, animals - like mini mice of some sort. Lani's red bird kills and eats the flying mini mice.

The small planetoid is a bit weird to walk in - Sir Keller looks a bit unwell.

After a couple of hours, some hostile ships approach. We start rushing back towards the exit from the planetoid. Grey, Minora, Zim, and Turia teleport back via the gate.

The ships approaching us appear to look like, well, tadpoles, although they have port holes, and are thus clearly ships.

We position ourselves to strafe them. But they then flee. However, one of the ships could have dropped off people on the planetoid. In fact they did do so.

About six people were dropped off in the manufactured portion of the asteroid. Some of us return to help out. Herr Rolph would like is to capture them.

We enter the complex, and move to find the enemy. Thora and Remus are the first to engage. They find over half a dozen Mind Flayers. The remainder of the party is rushing to engage.

Combat ensues. Some of the mind flayers appear to be invisible. In short order, Remus is stunned. Roland and Safranna move to join the combat. So far, we count 8 mind flayers.

It turns out that the "invisible" mind flayer was instead a psionic ogre. An ogre that leaves behind attached tentacles? Hmm.

One of the actual mind flayers moves in for a snack on Remus, but only latches a single tentacle on him.

Multiple members of our group get stunned by mind blasts, although none of the party are stunned.

One of the Mind Flayers appears to have some kind of spell resistance, as revealed by a maximised fireball cast by Grey.

Grey gets stunned by a mind blast, despite making a save against DC 32.

Combat continues. A number of the mind flayers are killed, and one plane shifts away.

Zim moves into melee with the powerful mind flayer. It casually attacks Zim, almost crushing his skull.

As combat continues, all mind flayers are relatively easily dealt with, except for the tough one. It shrugs off a destruction cast by Minora, and ignores all damage dealt by Safranna's anti-undead sword.

Roland deals damage by power attacking lots. Zim damages the tough one with acid. It then regenerates lots, although it doesn't regenerate the acid damage.

By now, no other mind flayers are present.

Minora calls for aid, and receives a planetar.

Combat continues, mostly ineffectually. But, one of the knights has a great idea. Not long after, a hole opens in the roof, courtesy of the disintegrator cannon. Shortly after that, six barrels of greek fire fall into the room, followed by some torches. There is much fire and destruction. Unfortunately, it is only moderately hurt. Nonetheless, screaming in pain, it plane shifts away.

We clean up, and decide to rest.

We explore the planetoid. We find some more dangerous plants, and discover that the glowing points are big fiery pits, and probably serve to provide light and warmth.

We find some more artificially constructed areas, which appear to be havens for the plant creatures.

We find some pictures carved in walls as well. One appears to be of elves, another of some kind of golems, and a third of mind flayers.

We also find a set of armour, made of ironwood. Possibly created using alchemical means.

Thora realises that not all giants are irrevocably evil.

With the Falcon, we start searching for more warm rocks. Unfortunately, there are thousands of rocks to investigate.

We search a while, then Thora casts find the path, and discover that the eggs come from the opposite direction of the place the mind flayers are headed. We head off in the direction of the mind flayers.

We catch up to the mind flayers. We follow at a distance, discreetly.

They head through the rocks, and appear to be patrolling.

The mind flayer ships head off at right angles, away from the asteroid field, and deeper into the void.

In the meantime, Thora has found out that during the earlier invasion, giants aided the dark elves. Fascinating.

Grey also checks out the north pole project. They have a massive ice dome constructed, very effective techniques, metal doors against potential balrogs. They have a number of good measures in place.

At Thora's suggestion, a large portion of stone is pulled forth, and Thora casts stone tell upon it. Unfortunately, it effectively has no memories.
